Serenity Trails

The Challenge:

To change an existing farmers field into a desirable living community. The Response lies in a series of lakes to supply the earth for necessary elevation for houses. At the same time the recreation ponds thus created could be incorporated into the Project to conserve water. Design stewardship into attractive lots – the result Serenity Trails.

The Design:

The Designer, Peter Thiessen, had traveled extensively in Europe and U.S.A. and become fascinated with Urban Design as a Response to housing needs. He found winding streets, wide lots, landscaped yards, underground services, retention ponds, and walking paths – all at a reasonable price.

The result is Serenity Trails. Thiessen credits local initiative and foresight for an abundant sewage system and progressive village council (LUD). In addition, an excellent education system and a sense of subdued local pride and values, added to make the decision to develop this property the correct one. “In retrospect”, he says, “it’s been a Win/Win situation and we’ve been pleasantly surprised. We’ve been blessed.

The Development is a natural mixture of Builder Homes and Personal Plans. It adds a beautiful mix… people are adding landscaping and building an attractive suburban community with more room on each lot,” adds Thiessen. Quality builders have responded with design and materials. Award winning designs reflect this very desirable feature in the development of the community. Response from engineers and suppliers has been gratifying and mutually rewarding.
